1. Alex was born into a rich family, her father and mother were very rich. Her mother was a kind generous person and her father was humble and a sweet man, but when Alex was a toddler her mother died her father became a new man. Out of grief her father stated drinking and drinking a lot, getting drunk almost every night.

Alex had to raise herself with little help from her father and her father beat her a lot. He was angry at her all the time. Her father hated that she looked so much like her mother and kept telling her that it was her that should have died instead of her mother and she believed and agreed with him.

After her father had his bad days and she got really hurt she would go sleep outside, that's why she loves the outdoors so much, it was her source of comfort. Alex hated being inside because that's where her father was drunk and ready to hit her and she hated the feeling of the house it was so big she felt it just swallowed her up.

Alex had no other family members and didn't have any friends, she pushed everyone away and everyone thought it was strange when she came to school with big bruises and cuts and black eyes while everyone else came in with nice clean pampered skin that looked nice and new. She didn't mind being the outcast 'cuz if she had friends then she'd need to tell why her father beats and hurts her.

As Alex grew up she learned to make good of what she had and then when she got called into the Games, it wasn't the worse thing that could happen. For one it saved a girl with a perfectly good life to go into the Games, at least for a year. It was nice to get away from her father as well to get away and know she wasn't making it back.
